Vacancies

We deliver courses across an extensive range of provisions, from apprenticeships, to T-levels, A-levels, university level courses and adult learning, with dedicated campuses and employment-focused results.

We have a purpose-built, multi-million pound University Centre and a dedicated Sixth Form Centre, Sefton Sixth Form College. We also have a specialist hotel school and flagship restaurant, industry-focused hubs, and a unique enterprise village with a salon, florist, café and gym. All of our exceptional facilities are enhanced with the incredible personal support we offer to every one of our students.

In 2018, we were inspected by Ofsted achieving a grading of “Good” placing us amongst the best College’s in the North West. The findings of the inspectors demonstrate the passion and commitment of staff within our college.

Support for Lecturers and Assessors

Support for Lecturers and Assessors

All new Lecturers and Assessors at the College receive a comprehensive teaching and learning induction supported by the Director of Quality and Assistant Director’s (Teaching and Learning.)

This induction will ensure you understand our College approach to delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and equip you with the knowledge to contribute to delivering outstanding teaching sessions. A teaching and learning induction includes:

  • A 4 hour development session covering ‘Teaching Fundamentals’
  • Creating an environment for learning (behaviour for learning)
  • What does ‘outstanding learning’ look like?
  • Planning for outstanding teaching and learning - ‘Active learning’
  • Assessment for learning
  • Improving questioning as a key strategy in assessing learning

Latest Ofsted Report

Our latest Ofsted inspection report in March 2018 reflected all the hard work our leadership team, teaching staff, and support staff have put into Hugh Baird College, with ‘Good’ results for all our college-based courses. We’ve also been commended on the quality of our teaching, our personal development and support programmes, and the outcomes of our learners.
