CELEBRATING HALF A CENTURY OF TRANSFORMING LIVES

September 2024 marks 50 years of Hugh Baird College. As we proudly celebrate our 50th anniversary, we are reflecting on five decades of transforming lives and shaping futures.

50 years

50 years at the forefront of education

In 1974 Bootle College of Further Education was renamed Hugh Baird College, in recognition of a prominent local mayor and college governor, in honour of his contribution to developing education in Bootle.

For 50 years, we have been at the forefront of education in our region, providing both academic and vocational courses that cater to a diverse range of interests and career goals.

Our alumni have gone on to make significant contributions in various fields, from healthcare and engineering to the creative arts and business.

Looking ahead to the future

As we celebrate this milestone, we are also focused on the future. Our 50th anniversary marks the beginning of a new chapter — one that will see continued innovation, collaboration and excellence.

We continue to be committed to equipping our students with the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
